Together We Move, Together We Heal
We all know someone who’s been touched by cancer. Whether it’s a friend, family member, coworker, neighbor, or yourself, cancer threads itself through so many lives in North Carolina and beyond. Communities respond by showing up for each other. Neighbors cheer at charity runs, friends volunteer at fundraisers, and families gather at events to support those navigating treatment. When you join in, you become part of that circle of care.
This spring, you have a chance to be part of that movement. Show your support, rally behind survivors, and stand with families who are navigating this fight. Every step you take at a run, every cheer from the sidelines, and every dollar raised sends a message that no one faces cancer alone. Join a local event, volunteer, or simply show up. Your presence makes a difference.
On March 14, the CRUSH Colorectal Cancer 5K brings the community together to raise awareness and funding for colorectal cancer research at the Duke Cancer Institute. Walkers and runners join patients, families, medical teams, and supporters for a morning of connection, community partners, and available screenings, all supporting advances in care and public awareness.
March 21 brings the Raleigh LUNGe Forward 5K Walk, Run and Rally back to Koka Booth Amphitheatre. Now marking two decades of community steps and smiles, this lung cancer fundraiser blends music, games, and moving moments with fundraising for research and support services right here in our Triangle region.
On March 28, the Taylor Anne Foundation’s 7K Run/Walk and Family Fun Run in Cary celebrates the memory of a young warrior while raising funds for pediatric cancer research. Whether you’re lacing up for the full 7K or chasing kids in the mini run, it’s one of those mornings where you really feel the good in a crowd.
Keep your spring calendar marked for Race for the Cure on April 25 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. This year’s 30th Anniversary celebration invites runners, walkers and virtual participants to support breast cancer research and patient services with tradition, teamwork, and hope at the forefront.
These events aren’t just dates on a calendar; they’re shared stories of care, courage, community, and the simple act of showing up for each other. Want to be a part of the change? Lace up, volunteer, or cheer along the sidelines! One thing’s for sure: we’re better together.
