It is a conversation, a little patience, and making sure the timing is right for both the puppy and the family.
This year marks 30 years of Heartfelt Dachshunds raising AKC Dachshunds in a wide range of coats and colors, from English Cream to wire hair, but the real difference is in how carefully the process is handled. Owner Lynda McKinnis keeps things personal, helping families understand care, training, temperament, and what life with a Dachshund actually looks like once the adorable puppy stage meets real-life routines. When puppies are old enough, interested customers can call to schedule a visit based on current availability, usually to view a specific puppy or a litter they are seriously considering. Parents may also be introduced.
A thoughtful structure is part of the care. Keeping the puppies protected while still helping future owners feel informed and confident is the goal.
