Yonder Community Market is an independently owned community market in Franklin, North Carolina, built around a simple idea: food should be real. Owned and operated by husband and wife Alan and Hannah Edwards, Yonder focuses on carefully sourced foods with recognizable ingredients, prioritizing relationships with local farmers, ranchers, fishermen, and small producers.

Much of the store’s food comes from within a 100-mile radius of Western North Carolina, with in-season produce always sourced locally. Alongside those regional offerings, Yonder also carries select staples from around the world that meet the same standards for quality and integrity, including thoughtfully imported foods from Spain, Italy, India, and Japan. From fresh pesticide-free produce and heritage meats to raw milk, pasture-raised eggs, Appalachian grains, and natural wines, everything in the market is chosen with intention.

Recently expanded to 1,400 square feet, the market remains small by conventional grocery standards but has become a meaningful hub for the community. Yonder brings people together not only around food but around music and shared experiences. Live music, classes, and community gatherings take place beneath the oak trees outside the market, supporting independent musicians while creating a welcoming space for neighbors to connect.

Alan, a longtime songwriter, and Hannah, a passionate food and music lover who oversees daily operations alongside a dedicated team, bring a shared vision to the business. Together they have built Yonder around the belief that quality food, strong local relationships, and a sense of place still matter.
