Dr. Mayada Khidr attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a bachelor's degree in biology. She continued her dental education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2013. After graduation, Dr. Khidr joined Abraha Family Dentistry in Durham, NC. She loves being able to help patients feel comfortable in the dentist's chair and helping them feel better about their smile and oral health. Dr. Khidr is passionate about dentistry because it allows her to develop lifelong relationships with patients and their families.

Dr Theodros Abraha, born in Asmara, Eritrea, attended a German School in Ethiopia. He lived most of his childhood through high school in Addis Abeba. As a young man, he realized he had a passion for culture, language and travel. He can also speak Spanish, German, Arabic, Amharic and Tegringa. He later came to the US and received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. His uncle helped influence his career choice as a dental professional.

Dr Abraha soon realized his new-found dream and graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. He is married to Mayada Khidr, who also graduated from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill Dental School in 2013.  Both doctors work as a team to serve the dental needs of Durham, NC and surrounding regions.

Dr Abraha has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education in endodontics (root canal), oral surgery, crown and bridges, periodontal therapy, esthetic dentistry and denture treatment. Dr Abraha is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and North Carolina District. He enjoys reading, traveling, listening to music and playing soccer in his free time.
